Sarah Wood Communication

Sarah Wood Communication is a boutique communication agency dedicated to helping illuminate your work and share your stories with targeted audiences strategically, consistently, and in a way that reaches and resonates with those audiences.

We work best with purpose-driven individuals and organizations, in the following fields:

  • Nonprofits
  • Associations
  • Health & Science
  • Human Services

We can help if you:

  • Aren’t getting the results you want from your existing communication strategy and content, or you don’t yet have a communication strategy
  • Have great stories to tell about your impact, but don’t know how to go about reaching your targeted audiences in the most effective way
  • Have ideas, a strategy, and key messaging, but need help executing those ideas with your available resources
  • Need to enhance your thought leadership presence with niche audiences, but don’t know where to start
  • Want to use a period of growth or transition as an opportunity to revamp and improve communication efforts
  • Have a small, non-existent, or overwhelmed in-house communication team

It’s your story; we help you shine a light on it. Our focus is on providing fractional communication support. We not only help you create a realistic, effective, and sustainable communication strategy, but we help you implement it by using effective storytelling, clear language and key messages that resonate with your audiences to illuminate your work. And we stick around to see what works for your specific audiences over time.

About our Founder:

Sarah Wood is the Founder and Chief Communication Consultant at Sarah Wood Communication, LLC. A lifelong voracious reader, Sarah has been helping individuals and organizations identify and effectively share the stories of their good work for her entire professional career. And she still loves a good story.

In addition to helping people and organizations illuminate their good work, Sarah is a solo mother by choice to two amazing humans. She selfishly hopes that her work with purpose-driven organizations is a small step toward making the world a better place for her children.

Sarah has a BA and MA in Communication from UNC-Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University, respectively, and a well-deserved reputation for being polite, but brutally honest. Her particular interests include health, science, and women’s equality. If she had unlimited free time, she would finally stop talking about wanting to speak a second language and practice her Spanish, take a cake decorating class, and curl up with some hot tea and a stack of novels.
